Legal & General Assurance Society Limited (“Legal & General”) has proposed to transfer its traditional insurance-based savings, pensions, life and with-profits to ReAssure under Part VII of the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000.

What does this mean for existing ReAssure customers?

If you already have a ReAssure policy, it will not be moving anywhere and you’ll still use the same contact details as before to get in touch with us. Similarly the proposed transfer will not make any changes to your policy or the way we administer it, and by employing more staff, we’ll make sure there’s no effect on the level of service we provide.

A letter will also be sent to ReAssure customers to explain about the transfer. If you haven’t yet received your letter, you can download both this and the supporting documents below.

What does this mean for Legal & General customers?

Legal & General will send an information pack to transferring customers to explain about the transfer. This pack contains:

  • A covering letter
  • Scheme guide

If you haven’t yet received your pack, you can download the documents below.

What happens next?

ReAssure and Legal & General have jointly agreed to defer the transfer, which was scheduled for 4 November 2019 (subject to High Court approval).

This means the High Court hearing to consider the transfer has also been deferred, and that ReAssure and Legal & General will also apply to adjourn the scheduled hearings in the Royal Court of Guernsey and Royal Court of Jersey. We don’t know the new dates for the transfer or High Court, Royal Court of Guernsey and Royal Court of Jersey hearings yet, but we’ll announce them on this website as soon as we do. The Independent Expert’s Supplementary Report will be available two weeks before the new High Court hearing date.

What do I need to do?
