With so many of us having busy lives, it’s easy to lose track of the policies we have. We move jobs and houses, have significant life events like getting married, divorced and unfortunately losing loved ones.

It’s easy to forget to update new names and addresses with a long list of companies at the time.

Moving house and not updating the new address and contact information is the most common reason for losing track of a policy. The letters sent with the latest policy information, won’t reach the customer so the policy sometimes gets forgotten.

When we’ve lost touch with a customer, we go to great efforts to find them. Using credit reference agencies, is the most successful way we do this.

Haven’t heard of ReAssure?

It’s likely you didn’t take out your policy with us. We’ve bought blocks of business from several providers over the years, such as:

Barclays
Guardian Financial Services
HSBC
Legal & General 
Old Mutual Wealth

This means your policy was likely to of been bought by a different company and transferred to us.

Those companies may have also been involved in their own mergers, takeovers and transfers before the policy moved to us, so your policy could have moved more than once.

If you’re unsure of who we are, you’re doing the right thing to check. Here’s how you can do it:

The UK financial services regulator (FCA) has a website which shows all registered financial companies. You can visit register.fca.org.uk and type in our reference number 110495.

Companies House holds the UK's register of companies. You can look on their website gov.uk/get-information-about-a-company and find us using our reference 754167.

It’s likely to be an investment policy, a pension, a life policy or a mortgage endowment policy. When you’ve confirmed who you are, we will be able to give you that information.

I don't think I am a ReAssure customer, what should I do?

If you don’t think you have a ReAssure policy, we’re sorry for getting in touch. We’d really appreciate a quick call so we don’t write to your address again. Or you can simply tick the box saying not known at this address on the confirm your details form we sent with the letter to you.
