Beware of fake websites
Scammers could be impersonating ReAssure – don’t get caught out
Lots of companies in the financial world are targeted by scammers who create fake websites to con customers. ReAssure is no different and we want our customers to be prepared.
Fake websites
Often the website looks very professional on the surface. However on a second look you might see things that don’t look quite right:
• A website address that’s similar to ours, but not quite right
• Wording that doesn’t quite make sense: ‘150+ decades of experience’
• Details that don’t make sense: telephone numbers that don’t look real
Watch out for emails as well
• We won’t ask you to email information to us directly – we have secure forms in the help centre on reassure.co.uk that allow you to get documents to us electronically
• We won’t email you out of the blue except for customer satisfaction surveys (and we won’t be asking for personal or policy information)
Other warning signs to remember
• being contacted out of the blue
• being offered a free pension review
• being promised high or guaranteed returns
• being promised access to your pension before the age of 55
• being pressured to act quickly.
Finally
If you’re not sure you’re on the correct website or you think you’ve been contacted by a scammer, call us on 0800 073 1777. Our phone lines are open 8.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, not including bank holidays.
As a general rule, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Seek impartial advice if you’re in any doubt.
