ReAssure statement on the EU referendum vote to leave

On 23 June 2016, the UK electorate voted to leave the European Union (Brexit).

We (ReAssure) have been monitoring and analysing the potential implications of the UK referendum and the response to a Brexit vote. Due to the uncertainty around the UK Government’s next steps following the referendum, it is currently too early to make a statement on the implications, although it’s likely that financial markets will experience some volatility in the immediate term.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and consider the potential implications of Brexit for our policyholders and our business.

Questions and answers

Q. What will happen to the investment performance of my policy?

We can’t comment or speculate on how your policy’s investment performance will be affected by the UK leaving the EU.

However, it’s likely we will see some volatility in the markets in at least the short term due to uncertainty. This could in turn have an impact on the investment performance of your policy.

Fund values can go up or down on a daily basis, and the market is affected by numerous factors.

We don’t expect any immediate changes to your policy as a result of the vote. However, we don’t know how the government will respond in the period following the vote, or if it will make any changes to the rules that govern your policy, or pay outs from your policy.

We will continue to monitor any developments following the Brexit Vote, and will keep the website up-to-date with any developments.

Q. If the UK leaves the EU, is my money safe with ReAssure?
